Outside Villa Manzara
The front garden is planted with several mature olive trees, together with rose bushes and citrus trees. In 2009 we added a scented bush outside the kitchen window which, along with the Jasmine, provides wonderful night fragrance. Outside the ‘front' door (side of the villa) is our private pool surrounded by an extensive patio area. Sun-beds and umbrellas are provided, together with outside furniture – table and chairs – for six guests. For al-fresco dining there is a large purpose built BBQ There is a sizeable patio accessed from the lounge, with a table and six chairs. This is a very pleasant spot to dine. A second patio, also equipped with table and chairs, leads off the dining room, and is a lovely shady spot to have breakfast.
Villa Manzara is five minutes by car from the picturesque village of Bellapais, famous for the Abbey and the Tree of Idleness, where Gerald Durrell wrote his famous 'Bitter Lemons' book. Here you will find many good restaurants and bars, including the ‘Kybele Restaurant' in the grounds of the Abbey. This affords fabulous views over the coastline, especially from Table 1, however booking is advisable particularly in high season.
In the village of Ozankoy, just five minutes from the villa, you will find many restaurants with varied cuisine plus two small mini markets where basics can be found. Girne (Kyrenia) town centre is ten minutes by car |
