 Flights
to North Cyprus airport, Ercan (pronounced ‘Erjan') are via a touchdown in Turkey. The main
carriers are Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines and, possibly,
Onur Air in High Season –
search for their websites. All carriers make a stopover in Turkey and, in
some cases, you remain seated whilst passengers embark/disembark and the
plane is re-fuelled. You may spend approx. 45/50 minutes on the ground.
Alternatively, you will change planes and have a pleasant
but short time in the modern airport of Istanbul – lots of shops and time to stretch your legs – this is welcomed by some
travellers. Ground staff deal with your luggage and it arrives at your
final destination. When you change planes, the onward transfer locations
are well signed, usually in red. Please do check the stopover situation.
Most flights to Ercan arrive late evening or very early
morning - the transfer time is only 35 minutes. There are, as yet, no
on-airport car hire companies at Ercan, but we can recommend, (and arrange – just ask) a local car
hire company. This is a family run concern, Karapasha & Son who we know
well and who will provide a taxi transfer from the airport to Villa
Manzara's front door! If you know the island then they are happy to drop
your rental car at Ercan airport (no charge made for this) so you can
self-drive. . . . but only if you know exactly where the villa is
situated!! We can provide you with a route from the airport to the villa if
you feel confident. On return, you can self-drive or arrange a taxi
transfer.
Alternatively fly to Larnaca in South Cyprus. Flights to Larnaca are direct, and
available from a wide range of UK regional airports. The transfer time to
Villa Manzara is 1 hour 30 minutes - an approximate timing, but the total
transit time from UK is about the same whichever route you choose to fly.
The border crossing from South to North does not present any problems. Your
driver will advise and help you because he ‘knows the ropes' ...they do this daily!
To search for flights to Larnaca, either visit your travel
agents or search such websites as Lastminute, TUI, Thomas Cook,
Wizz, Cobalt, BA and Easy Jet, Jet2, Blue Air, Norwegian and others.
Our recommended car hire company will also collect you from
Larnaca. NOTE: he charges a discounted price for Villa Manzara guests – this depends on party
numbers and assumes you will rent a car from them.
Important note: Villa Manzara cannot be accessed until
16:30 on your arrival day and must be vacated by 09:30 on your day of
departure unless you book an additional day. Please keep this in mind when
booking your flights. We do try to be flexible where we can (just ask) but
our property managers sometimes have to turn the villa around completely
for incoming guests on the same day. Arrangements can be made for your
suitcases to be stored if required.
